Quick browser-based checks for your PC and devices

TestMyPC gives you a set of fast, focused diagnostics that run directly in your browser — no installs, no accounts, no fuss. Whether you are troubleshooting an issue, preparing for a video call, or checking a device before selling it, TestMyPC helps you get clear answers quickly.

What can you test?

Input

Keyboard Tester

Check that every key registers correctly — including letters, numbers, function keys, modifiers, and navigation keys. Useful for catching stuck keys or missing inputs.

Video

Webcam Tester

See a live camera preview, switch between connected cameras, toggle mirror mode, and confirm stream resolution before calls or recordings.

Audio

Microphone Tester

Monitor your microphone input level in real time and select a specific audio input device. Quickly confirm your mic is working before joining a call.

Audio

Sound Tester

Run a set of audio checks including left and right channel tests, stereo balance, bass, and treble. Useful for checking speakers or headphones for issues.

Input

Trackpad Tester

Test pointer movement, left and right click events, double-click, and scroll direction. Helpful when checking a trackpad for responsiveness or gesture issues.

Network

Internet Speed Test

Estimate your connection latency, download speed, and upload speed with a staged browser test. Useful for checking whether your internet is performing as expected.

Utility

Timer

Run a clean on-screen timer with pause, reset, and fullscreen support. Includes Wake Lock where available to prevent your display from sleeping mid-session.

Why use browser-based tools?

No installs required

Everything runs in your browser. There is nothing to download, install, or update. Open the tool, run the check, and you are done.

Fast and lightweight

TestMyPC is designed to load quickly and stay out of the way. Pages are lightweight and the tools start immediately without lengthy setup processes.

Private by design

Camera, microphone, and input tests run locally in your browser. Your device data is not uploaded or stored by TestMyPC.

Works on most devices

TestMyPC runs on Windows, Mac, Linux, and most modern browsers. While some tools may have browser-specific limitations, the core tests work across the majority of setups.

Who is it for?

TestMyPC is useful for a wide range of people and situations:

  • Before a video call or online meeting — confirm your camera and mic are working before joining
  • Remote workers and students — quickly diagnose whether issues are with your hardware or connection
  • Gamers and streamers — test audio, input response, and internet speed before a session
  • Buying or selling a device — run a quick check on a second-hand laptop or PC to verify key hardware works
  • Repair shops and IT support — use the tools as a fast first-pass check before deeper hardware investigation
  • Home users — troubleshoot issues without needing to install additional software

Limitations

Browser-based testing has real advantages, but it is worth being aware of what these tools cannot do:

  • Not all key events are detectable in every browser — some system keys (e.g. volume, media buttons) may not register
  • Internet speed results are estimates and may differ from dedicated speed testing services or native app results
  • Camera and microphone access depends on browser permissions — if permission is denied, the tool cannot function
  • Results may vary across different browsers, operating systems, and hardware configurations
  • TestMyPC cannot diagnose internal hardware faults, driver problems, or OS-level issues

For detailed hardware diagnosis, professional repair tools or OS-level utilities will always be more thorough than browser-based checks.
